Insurance and financial guarantee

The professional activity of each notary at the office is covered by a civil liability insurance policy taken out with Mutuelle du Mans Assurances (liberal professions department, 14 bld Marie et Alexandre Oyon, 72030 Le Mans Cedex 9) up to 150 million euros per claim, with no geographical limitation, and beyond that, by the Regional Notaries’ Guarantee Fund.

Complaints against a notary

In the event of a complaint against a notary at the office that has not been resolved directly, or a claim for compensation, please write to the Chambre interdépartementale des notaires de Versailles, complaints department, 40 avenue de Paris 78000 VERSAILLES, enclosing a detailed note and copies of relevant documents (article 4-4° of ordinance no. 45-2590 of 2 November 1945).
